Scholars for Applied Research and Impact (SARI) Program – Applications Now Open!

The Scholars for Applied Research and Impact (SARI) program is now accepting applications for its 2026 cohort. This nationally funded training initiative prepares emerging and mid-career investigators to conduct rigorous, equity-focused research that addresses systemic and institutional factors influencing health across the lifespan—such as unstable housing, food insecurity, and educational inequities.
Program Overview
SARI provides scholars with the knowledge, mentorship, and practical experience necessary to design high-impact research studies and advance health equity. Participants will engage in a combination of in-person and virtual training experiences designed to strengthen methodological skills and support the development of an independent research product.
Key Program Features
One-week in-person Summer Intensive
June 7–13, 2026 at Villanova University (travel expenses covered)Monthly 2-hour virtual seminars
1:1 mentorship from leading experts in nursing and health equity
Hands-on learning to support completion of a research product (e.g., grant proposal, manuscript)
Certificate of Completion in Research on Systemic and Institutional Factors
Eligibility
PhD students through mid-career scientists from nursing and related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
